Dr Evans specialises in surgery done through the laparoscope (keyhole surgery). This type of surgery is especially useful for women with:
• Endometriosis
• Prolapse of the uterus or vagina
• Fibroids
• Heavy periods
• Ovarian cysts

We also offer care for women with
• Abnormal pap smears
• Unexpected vaginal bleeding after menopause
• Urinary incontinence on coughing or sneezing

Dr Evans does not offer regular gynaecological checks. These can usually be done with your general practitioner.

Dr Evans personally performs around 180 laparoscopies per year. She is actively involved in regular continuing education to ensure that the treatment options you are offered are up to date and most appropriate to your needs. All surgery has risks associated with it, and it is never possible to promise that surgical complications will not occur. However, your safety is our highest priority.

Mrs Diana Morgan, our practice manager, is a registered nurse and midwife, who has worked in both the United Kingdom and Australia. Her friendly and caring nature has been an asset to our practice for almost 10 years. She has a good understanding of our patients’ medical conditions and is a valued part of our team.

38 The Parade is a bluestone cottage located on the south side of The Parade, towards the city from the Sydenham Rd corner. Bus Routes 122, 123, 124 and 125 leave Currie St in the city and pass our rooms. You should get off at bus stop 6. There is parking along Sydenham Rd. Please tell us before your visit if you require disabled access, and we will be happy to explain the best route for you.

You should bring a referral from your doctor.
If you have had any previous surgery, particularly if this was for endometriosis, then a copy of your operation record is very useful. Please ask our staff how you can obtain this information, if you do not have a copy yourself.
Please feel comfortable bringing your partner, a friend, or a family member with you.

Consultations and surgical procedures are charged at rates similar to those recommended by the Australian Medical Association as fair and reasonable. This does involve an out-of-pocket expense to you. Please feel comfortable discussing this with us.
Dr Evans does not have public hospital operating lists, but women without insurance may choose to meet the costs of their surgery themselves.

If at any time you have any comments regarding your care (whether positive or negative), we encourage you to do so. We appreciate feedback and continually work on providing the best care we can for all our patients.
